Shona's special thank you day

Shona would like to take the opportunity today, Saturday 27th June to thank all the people who played such a big part in giving her the new life that she has today in England. First of all to all at Snoopy Rescue who set the wheels in motion and also donated £300 for Shona. Then to Losim Claudia the vet who kindly took her in and cared for her and to the kind gentlemen Tony Finch who paid for her transport. To all at Europet who cared for her on her long journey with them. Then to Margaret Young for taking her part way to finally meet Pam from FOND in Aberdeenshire and finally to all the other people who have kindly donated money for her welfare. North Derbyshire Animal Support donated £250 and paid for her transport to be brought back to her permanent foster home here in Chesterfield. To Pam and John for all her care for 3 months.

TO EVERYBODY, THANK YOU SO VERY VERY MUCH!

Good afternoon all!
Well I've been up to my usual antics since Monday and been very busy with one thing and another! Mum is trying to put some videos on here but I think she's getting mad because she cant do it and I heard a word which I think comes out when you folk get mad!! So again we have to wait for dear Holly or Charlotte to come in, so you may get them over the weekend, if you're lucky. We are having a special day at the shop the PDSA clinic is coming and the dog wardens are here to do free micro-chipping! Well I don't need any of that as I have a passport you know AND my own doctor now so it's nice some other dogs can have some help. I still love the new guinea pig her name is Matilda but we think she's having little babies, oh I cant wait for them they will be gorgeous!! I had a play with Eddie our grumpy Lionhead rabbit but he chased me so I ran indoors. I don't trust him at all he growls at everybody, I will have to rethink about him! I really love Button and Harriet, Butty is a little angora and Harriet looks like a hare they have a lovely place together and I sneak in there as well, I even stole a cabbage leaf from them but dad said I didn't need to eat veg any more (I did on the streets as that was all there was) and I had a lovely chunk of chicken instead. The folks are paranoid about chopping everything into the correct size because I've got no teeth but I will have a go at anything if given the chance haha. So docs appointment has been changed to Tuesday afternoon just to check up and review my medication, lots of sunning next week with Mia, we have a great time I love her very much. In fact I love all my new family and Mum says they love me so much and I believe they do!! Kisses to you all,
Shona xoxo

MONDAY!! Good morning hope you're all ok! I've been up to my usual antics over the weekend had a great walk with Mum, mother and daughter time you know. Took ball as well so that was really good fun, got a new guinea pig she's just arrived so she had a sloppy wash from me and a hair drying from Mum!! I really like these little things they are like a moving toy although I'm not allowed to play with them but I can kiss them. Nanna Pam is not very well at the moment, I hope she gets well soon and I hope Seiger is well too he's gone to his new home. I will be blogging on Fridays and Mondays so please keep following for all the updates! Love from Shona xxxx

Friday 19 June 2015

Here comes the weekend! I have been very busy last two days, down at charity shop helping out, had two more photonic light therapies and I feel really well. Liz does a really good job she's very nice she has a riding school you know and Holly her daughter (not our Holly) rescued bunnies and guinea pigs and we help her with various things. Oh hang on mother wants me ---- right tablet time... Where was I? Oh yes we give money for hay and rabbit food to bunny Holly to help out. Aunty Linda has bought me a small football but I can't pick it up very well so I've made everybody laugh by dribbling it outside the shop covered in grass, so Mum's bought me a new one. Mia and me have played with Hissing Sid the giant snake!!! So that will be good fun, photos will be available tomorrow. We had so much fun he thinks he's 5ft long and we stretched him a bit more haha. Mark has been to clean our bunnies out today and I helped! Well I refused to move out of the rabbit house so he had to work around me, I always get my own way ha ha. Having a nice relaxing weekend with some special walks to the cricket pitch, it's lovely there as the paddock is 6ft tall and we all battle for the path which is hilarious as we push each other into the long grass. Mum hates it as she's scared of... grasshoppers!! Shrimp is duo to visit on Sunday so more antics, do you think my English is good? I had a clever clogs in the shop who speaks Romanian I took no notice of him whatsoever I didn't understand any of it. I just went straight past him and carried on playing... or so they thought. Well supper time, I'm having crumpets and cheese, my night time stroll and then its time to throw some zzzzzs.
Night night!
Shona xx

Hi all!
At last some photos of ME! And this is Taz my new pal isn't he cute, couldn't get Mia on the photo as she was on the sofa hiding from the puppy, but there's some videos to come. It's really hot today so we are at home with Dad, Mums at the shop so we are out later when it cools down. I had lay in this morning until 8:30 (to make up for yesterday) so I had a burst of energy and guess what? Tang's leg came off and he went in the pond! So when we retrieved him I shook him all over the kitchen which was stopped straight away as the new wallpaper was splattered and Tang duly went into the washing machine AGAIN. Tomorrow is my light therapy session with Liz, she's very nice and it's very relaxing don't know what it does but its something to do with getting your poorly parts better. It's to help my arthritis and that ( I wonder if it will make me some new teeth) mind you, mum reckons its a good job I've got none when I'm bossy!
Enjoy the pictures and I will see you all tomorrow!
Shona xoxo

Monday 15 June 2015

Hi everyone!
Day 15 of my new life, yesterday I told you my new mate as coming well turns out he's a shrimp of a thing! Lovely little puppy and he liked me very much, but Mia didn't care for him very much! He played with me for ages and Mum thought I would have an early night because I would be so tired. Ha ha no chance! My parents thought they were clever when they sneaked off to bed EARLY so I got mother up at 6:30am! She was not pleased! So puppy went home and there's some cracking photos to come just waiting for Aunty Holly to put them on as Mother doesn't know how to do it. It amazes me that I can type on this thing but she can't even upload my photos. Strange you folk are. She's learning Romanian now as she thinks I misbehave a bit because I don't understand her English! Yeah ok then, you believe that Mum. Been to the paddock with Toby, he's Granny's westie nice young man friendly but only after I put him in his place.
Time to snooze. We are sat around the pond looking at the fish, Mother is having a couple of drinks and Me and Mee moo relaxing under the brollie on our vet bed. It's lovely here, and then SUPPER!
Goodnight all,
Shona and Mia xoxo

Sunday 14 June 2015

Blurghh, rainy Sunday!
I'm not going out today as I'm waiting for my new friend Taz to visit. He's a tiny puppy smaller than my toys in fact Mum says I'm not to suck him or whip him with my tongue as he's so small, might end up in my toy box! I don't mind babies but I don't think Mia will be impressed though. Having chicken today yummy, and I just had a banana I love them. Just wondering how Nana Pam is doing with Seiger, I hope he settles into his new home too. Well sorry it's a boring day, I'm off for a nap Aunty Holly is coming to do some videos for you all later!
Bye for now, Shona xoxo

Shonieponie Uk

Hi everyone my name is Shona Hall-Woodward I'm 4 years old and I am a Doberman girl from Romania.
I now live in Chesterfield having lived on the streets of Romania for the last three years, I was rescued by a lovely vet called Losim Claudia who contacted Snoopy Rescue to see if they could help me.

He cared for me for two months whilst my pet passport etc. was arranged for me to travel via Europet all the way to England and then to FOND (Friends of Northern Dobermans) in Scotland. My mammoth journey started from Romania on January 22nd 2015 and after some 5,000 miles I finally arrived at Pam and John's. FOND HQ!! On 29th January.

After a week of good rest I went to see the FOND vet where it was suggested that I had x-rays and some rotting teeth removed in the near future. As it happens my tongue hangs out as I didn't have any teeth anyway! But I did have pins in my front left leg which had been badly set after an accident, I have very bad arthritis in various joints, both my cruciates have been damaged but alas are starting to repair themselves to some extent as very little can be done for these anyway. So with all these problems I would have died a terrible death had I been left on the streets in Romania.

Now after having 15 of my teeth removed, which now leaves two! And one pin from my damaged leg, sadly the other one couldn't be removed as it is calcified in the bone and had to be left in. I was recovering under Pam's care very well, when I then met Holly. She had travelled over 400 miles to visit me and helped Pam with the other Dobies and stayed for a full week.

Holly is a Director at North Derbyshire Animal Support in Chesterfield, Derbyshire who have been supporting FOND on a regular basis and also paid £250 for my x-rays whilst in Scotland. Jill, Founder of NDAS was following my progress, a lady who is very experience in my breed but was nursing her elderly greyhound at 17 years old and also a 14 year old Doberman who had suffered two strokes. She was very interested in me and very sadly both these two wonderful dogs died within 7 weeks of each other and when Holly returned to see me again we left Scotland at 4am a week later on Sunday morning and guess what? I have gone to live with Jill and David and Mia and Baby and Holly nearby in Chesterfield! I have been here for two weeks now and I am very happy and very settled.  I have now been to meet my new doctor Mr Chris Mann MRCVS of Chaple House vets who I like very much and I think I am going to enjoy the rest of my life in England with my new family and friends down at the shop.
